We are a software engineering company, who work predominantly with Microsoft .Net technology to produce efficient solutions for enterprises.
Village Software was established in 1986, and has been a permanent feature of the Liverpool IT scene ever since. Across development, management, and operations, we're a tight-knit team who enjoy working together, and our sense of ownership and pride in our work rubs off on clients, too. Village is such a friendly place to work that employees rarely move on; the upside for clients being a familiar voice on the end of the phone whenever they call!
We're committed to our track record of high-quality solutions, and want to deliver software that's not just innovative, but also truly reliable. So having a balance of perfectionists and pragmatists mean that clients get to know a team who deliver stellar work, on time.
Johnny is a businessman in touch with his inner geek. He seeks to bring together his understanding of business and technology to put solutions together. He particularly works in the Business Intelligence and Enterprise Systems parts of the business, and has been with Village nearly 20 years. As well as being a partner in the business he is a lecturer at Liverpool Business School.
Clients respect Ian's ability to examine complex technical and business situations, and mastermind solutions. Our partners often want Ian at their side as they talk through solutions with their clients. As a partner in the business and with experience in the business-to-business eCommerce field as well as financial sector projects, Ian brings authority to the projects with which he works.
Putting effective solutions together takes more than great technical skills and process. Sue has extensive experience in the information solutions field, which she deploys to ensure Village develops long term clients, not flash in the pan projects. She also helps to ensure that we are not just clever programmers but we provide an infrastructure around our work to ensure we are a sure footed and reliable partner to our clients.
To our clients' staff, Kat is their friend in time of need, providing first line support and talking to our users in a way they understand. Kat keeps the office humming along with her meticulous administrative work in Sage and SQL Server, while producing critical reports for in-house use and further afield, using Crystal Reports.
Margaret has been with Village Software for over 20 years; longer than many companies last! She is most often found grappling with tricky technical problems and wearing the crown of 'SQL Guru'. Her extensive experience means that she has a wide range of knowledge resources to call upon in response to new problems (which are often old problems in different disguises). Having been around the block a few times Margaret has wide experience, and has recently been working on Enterprise Reporting and Business Intelligence issues.
Working with the full depth of applications, from the user front end, through web servers, to the back end data -- Lee is often the man keeping our long term solutions on the road. As well as working on various eCommerce solutions, he is involved in Sage Payroll based software, and maintaining clients home-grown (or often home-outgrown) workgroup solutions in Access and other technologies.
Since arriving at Village, Mike has delivered some impressive web based solutions, allowing salespeople to rapidly interact with their eCommerce technology. Now working on the full project life-cycle, Mike enjoys providing the analysis for solutions to the client, through to leading a team to deliver the highest quality of work. Mike's solutions are on big screens in factories, and on tablets in the hands of salespeople in the field. He brings understanding and practical innovation to solutions.
Ste has engaged with a range of our web-based solutions, providing a can-do attitude and an ability to see not only the technical detail but also the wider structural design issues of a problem. As the current youngest member of our team, he manages to find the space on projects to grind and get the serious work done -- hence everyone is keen to have him on their team.
As well as his wide ranging software skills, Paul has come to the Village team with a range of industrial experience, working in different information systems roles. Since arriving at Village in 2012, he has -- in fact -- spent more time on clients' sites than in the office. If nothing else this shows that clients consider him a safe pair of hands for their enterprise systems. His work on these sites includes system integration and business intelligence ETL.
Since joining Village summer 2014, Dom has settled immediately into a series of our projects working across the whole of the .Net technology stack from database to web front end. Dom quietly and confidently cuts through the work he is given. We have yet to find something he can't take in his stride.
After completing her PhD degree in electronics engineering, Nisreen decided to explore the software development world. Since joining Village in January 2015, she was involved in testing some of our developing solutions. Expanding her skills in SSRS and database manipulation, Nisreen manages to produce some in-house SQL Server Reports. She is also providing some admin support.
With enthusiasm for design and user experience, Anni is helping with our development of data visualisation tools and comparing our kiosk user experience design with best practice, to allow us to improve our products.
Ankit is a graduate from the University of Liverpool. After completing his degree in Computer Science and joining our team in September 2015, he has spent time working on all aspects of the development process as he develops and furthers his programming skills.
Kaja is our fresh 2016 graduate recruit from the Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in Computer Games Technology. With her experience from the gaming industry, the team is anticipating new and unique perspectives as well as solid programming skills to help us meet our clients' needs.
